The Scottish SPCA (SSPCA) are appealing for information after a cat was found in a rucksack in South Lanarkshire.
A member of the public found the cat in a rucksack on a public footpath between Galt Place and Murrayhill in the Murray area of East Kilbride on Tuesday, August 9. The cat is not microchipped and was not wearing a collar.
They took the abandoned feline home and called the SSPCA. Animale welfare inspectors took the 'friendly' into their care and urge its owners to come forward.

Inspector Dawn Murrie of the Scottish SPCA said:“The cat is a black, male, domestic short-haired type. He was found on the footpath between Galt Place and Murrayhill inside a black Reebok rucksack.
“The member of the public who found him took him home to keep him safe while they waited for our help. Unfortunately, he is not microchipped and was not wearing a collar when he was found.
“He appears to be healthy and has been very friendly and affectionate with our staff. If anyone recognises this cat we would ask that they contact our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
