Cat dubbed Buzz Lightyear after being rescued with head stuck inside glass bowl

A kitten has picked up the nickname Buzz Lightyear after managing to get a glass bowl stuck on her head.

The poor feline had to be saved by a local pet rescue team after being spotted wandering the streets of Boston, Massachusetts unintentionally looking like the Toy Story spaceman.

Because of the bowl, the six-month-old cat could not smell anything and so wasn't tempted by any food.

Instead wily rescuers lured in her siblings and the curious 'Buzz' followed before being grabbed.

Once secured, rescue staff were able to handle the kitten and remove the glass jar, before transporting her to their rescue centre.

The Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL) operates out of Massachusetts with locations around the state. They were called by a concerned resident who spotted the cat along the 200 block of Danforth Street in Boston.

Their work focuses on tackling the the enormous numbers of stray kits living in the city.

Once captured Buzz was vaccinated and spayed before being settled into ARL's rehoming centre.

She is still learning to trust humans and will need time for ARL staff and volunteers to help socialise the young cat, so she is not yet available for adoption.

Additionally, while rescuing the kitten, rescue staff were able to identify a previously unknown cat colony, and will begin trapping the other cats to provide medical treatment and assess whether they will be able to be rehomed.

ARL Field Services conduct rescue operations for injured or lost pets and livestock across Massachusetts.

They also help governmental agencies in dealing with cases of animal cruelty, neglect, and abuse.

Thanks to the work of animal rescue centres such as ARL many cats find loving homes. But sometimes its the cat that finds the owner, which is what happened to former model Jade Seze.

Taking to TikTok to share her heart-warming story, she shared clips of her adorable adopted cat Yoshi whom she met during her first ever visit to her father's grave.

The caption on the tear-jerking clip reads: "The first day I visited my dad's grave [sic], this stray cat came out of nowhere and jumped on my lap".

"He wouldn't leave my side and sat with me until I left," she continued.

Sezer, an ambassador for UN Women who has a MA degree in child psychotherapy, felt an instant connection with the feline who just so happened to be a stray in a beautiful twist of fate.

She explained that charmingly-named Yoshi 'didn't have a microchip' when he got checked out at the vets, and no owners came forward for him.

The friendly cat, who has white and brown colouring with stripes across his back, is seen snuggling up to his new owner in the TikTok clips.

In another snippet, Yoshi is donning a blue harness while being incredibly well behaved on the vet's table, while the final clip shows the little cat sleeping soundly on a bed.
