Casualty is back — here’s where and when you can watch the BBC drama

Good news Casualty fans! BBC1’s long-running medical series is returning to its traditional time slot on BBC1 on Saturday, July 13 2024.

The series has been off air for two weeks, due to live coverage of the UEFA Men’s Euro competition, Glastonbury 2024 and Wimbledon 2024.

It last aired on Saturday 22 June with the second instalment in the 12-part chapter Storm Damage. In the episode, Sinking Ships - Day 2 there was a jaw-dropping cliffhanger as it was revealed that consultant Stevie Nash’s new flame, Rich Walker, is married to Holby ED clinical lead Siobhan McKenzie!

Sparks flew last month when consultant Stevie Nash (Elinor Lawless) met fireman Rich (Emmerdale and Peaky Blinder star Michael Keogh) while saving lives at a catastrophic car crash in Casualty episode Sinking Ships - Day 1. Since then, he has been consistently texting Stevie about meeting up!

Stevie has been resisting Rich’s persuasive charms, having spotted his wedding ring while they were working together and confirming that he was indeed married. But will she have a change of heart when Casualty returns with the third outing in Storm Damage? (More info below).

Casualty — when and where can I watch the new episode?

When Casualty returns to our screens on Saturday, July 13 on BBC1 at 8.20pm with Sinking Ships - Day 3, there are quite a few moments of tense drama to look forward to!

Picking up in the aftermath of the storm that’s decimated Holby and had the city’s medics and paramedics working round the clock, we can reveal that nurse Cam Mickelthwaite (Barney Walsh) is haunted by his past, as it catches up with him while he is at his most vulnerable. Will this be connected to new hospital board member Jamie Cleveland (Ryan Hawley) who he knows from his childhood?

Elsewhere, junior doctor Nicole Piper (Sammy Dobson) struggles with being in limbo with her surrogacy for friend Rosie Cornwall (Nicola Chegwin), when an unexpected development sees her faced with an impossible decision.

Meanwhile, paramedic Jacob Masters’ worry for his missing son reaches crescendo when events reignite his fears for Blake, who abandoned his baby own son Carter at Holby ED. It looks like Jacob (Charles Venn) has a difficult road ahead of him… Will he be walking it alone?

As for Stevie and Rich? We’re sworn to secrecy for now, but watch this space!
