Tonight's big Summer Game Fest event, the annual Xbox Games Showcase, brought us a release date for Castlevania: Belmont's Curse – you know, the game we've been waiting 12 years for now.
In case you're out of the loop, Castlevania: Belmont's Curse was first unveiled earlier this year during a February PlayStation State of Play – but since then, we've not really received much news on the new 2D action game... until now, that is.
Today has brought with it a new trailer and word from Konami on the hotly anticipated Castlevania: Belmont's Curse release date. That's right, it's no longer just a general "2026" launch window... the game is coming October 15 this year, right on time for Halloween.
That's not all, though. The trailer gives us a longer look at actual gameplay, and it's pretty impressive. Contemporary visuals paired with ye olde Metroidvania mechanics make for quite a compelling combo – and I'm personally sold.
If you're just as excited as I am to step into the shoes of the young Belmont protagonist, you'll be able to play Castlevania: Belmont's Curse on PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X|S come October.
Here's hoping the new Castlevania adventure we've waited over a decade for is a good one.
