Youngsters at Castle Douglas Primary had a great time celebrating World Book Day on Thursday.
A special book swap allowed them to bring in books they’d already read and exchange them for something else.
And they could also get brand new books as the team from Designs Gallery and Cafe brought along a selection of publications that could be exchanged for World Book Day tokens.
Pupils were allowed to come to school dressed in pyjamas or their favourite book character.
And the fun continued with quizzes, story writing, bookmark making, comic drawing and the chance to make finger puppets.
