Castle Douglas' Jock Armstrong takes maximum points on Carlisle Stages Rally

Jock Armstrong finished the KNC Groundworks Scottish Rally Championship in style.

The Castle Douglas driver won the Scottish championship section of the Carlisle Stages in his Subaru Impreza.

And that was enough to give navigator Cammy Fair the co-drivers title after tying with Claire Mole in the final points.

Armstrong and Fair endured a difficult Saturday morning, arriving at service fifth with damaged front suspension.

Great work by the mechanics allowed them to storm through the three afternoon stages to take maximum points.

And it was a Stewartry one-two, with Dalbeattie’s Angus Lawrie and Annan co-driver Paul Gribben taking the runners-up spot in their Mitsubishi Evo 9. Lawrie had already sealed the Albyn Garage Challengers Championship.
