Plans for a new supermarket in Castle Douglas are expected to go before councillors early in the new year.
Aldi is hoping to transform an area on Oakwell Road into a £6.3 million store, which could create as many as 35 jobs.
And it looks set to go to the council’s planning applications committee in January.
An email from senior planner Andrew Robinson to the developer reveals he had hoped to get a report ready for the December meeting, which took place yesterday, but now expected it to go before councillors next month.
When Aldi originally unveiled their plans they had hoped to have the store open by Christmas 2023.
However, they have now changed that target to the end of 2024.
