Cash-strapped families can save £24.50 of their Tesco shop - but they have to be quick

Struggling Brits can save almost £25 on their next Tesco order, but you will need to get your stakes on to take advantage of the offer.

As the cost of living crisis continues to heap misery on under-pressure families, shoppers can at least save some cash when ordering their essentials today.

Shoppers saw food prices rocket by 11.6 per cent over the past month, the fastest rate since at least 2008.

The surge added the equivalent of £533 to the average annual grocery bill, worrying data shows.

Market research experts Kantar said the inflation hike for the four weeks to August 7 was the biggest recorded since 2008.

Fraser McKevitt, head of retail and consumer insight at Kantar, said: "As predicted, we've now hit a new peak in grocery price inflation, with products like butter, milk and poultry in particular seeing some of the biggest jumps.

"This rise means that the average annual shop is set to increase by a staggering £533, or £10.25 every week, if consumers buy the same products as they did last year."

Now, online money saving bible TopCashback say Wednesday's offer more than halves the cost of a shop.

Community platform inyourarea.co.uk highlighted the deal - and say Tesco is offering its new and existing Click + Collect customers £8 cash back when they spend £45 or more today.
