Manchester United midfielder Casemiro admits he is "sad" to see Cristiano Ronaldo leave Old Trafford but has wished him the best for the future.
The Brazilian was speaking ahead of his country’s tie with Switzerland on Monday following their 2-0 win over Serbia on Thursday. Casemiro and Ronaldo were long-time teammates at Real Madrid, the pair winning a plethora of trophies in Spain.
Their reunion at Carrington has lasted just three months, though, after Ronaldo’s contract was mutually terminated on Tuesday following his explosive interview with Piers Morgan in which he said he felt "betrayed" by the club and had no respect for Erik ten Hag.
