Nebraska Senator Pete Ricketts recently shared insights on the methods used by individuals to physically evade border agents and the involvement of cartels in facilitating illegal border crossings. According to Senator Ricketts, cartels play a significant role in aiding individuals in crossing the border, whether it be for immigration purposes or smuggling drugs.

Senator Ricketts, who has visited the border on four occasions and engaged with Customs and Border Protection officials, highlighted the sophisticated strategies employed by cartels. He explained that cartels often use diversion tactics by sending a large group of individuals through one sector to draw attention while simultaneously moving high-value targets, such as potential terrorists or drugs, through less guarded sectors.

Concerns raised about national security implications.

Describing the operations of cartels as highly efficient businesses, Senator Ricketts expressed concerns about the implications of these activities on national security. He attributed the perceived vulnerabilities at the border to the shifting resources caused by the strategic maneuvers of cartels.

Senator Ricketts further criticized the border policies implemented under the Biden administration, suggesting that they pose a threat to the safety and security of the country. He emphasized the need for stronger border control measures to counter the organized efforts of cartels and protect against potential risks associated with illegal border crossings.
