Perhaps the biggest question surrounding the 2023 Georgia Bulldogs is who will take over for two-time national champion quarterback Stetson Bennett.
Rising senior Carson Beck backed up Bennett in 2022 and has completed 36 of 58 passes for 486 yards and five touchdowns with two interceptions and 12 runs for 58 yards over the last two seasons.
Dawg Nation asked Beck about the Bulldogs’ quarterback room that also features rising redshirt sophomore Brock Vandagriff and freshman Gunner Stockton, who redshirted his first season in Athens.
“Insanely talented, every day we go out there and some of the throws we make are just wow. I think any of these dudes can go start at other Power 5 programs. It’s really insane that in one quarterback room we do have all this talent and a lot of people don’t know that.”
Beck is entering his fourth season at Georgia, something rare in today’s college football as a result of the transfer portal and the ease of transferring to another program for playing time.
“Honestly, I don’t want really want to go from school to school. That’s a lot, moving schools, being with a new team, having to develop a connection with a bunch of different guys. I love the guys here and it’s a lot of fun.”
Vandagriff has seen limited snaps in mop up duties over the last two seasons, but has shown flashes of ability in those opportunities.
“I think it’s one of the best in the country,” Vandagriff said of the quarterback room. “Everyone brings something different to the table and hopefully it will be something to look out for this spring.”
Stockton took scout team reps last fall as a true freshman and impressed.

Spring practice will begin the week of March 14 and culminate with the annual ‘G-Day’ game in Sanford Stadium on April 15.
