Cars 'petrol bombed' at two homes on Airdrie street as residents tell of 'war zone'

Three cars have been petrol bombed on a residential Scots street with one local describing the incident as "a war zone."

Residents told how they heard loud bangs and pops in Newbattle Avenue, Airdrie after thugs set plush motors alight.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service raced to the scene at around 11.30pm last night to douse the flames at two separate properties.
