Todd Fisher has slammed his family for creating a "distressing situation" by not inviting him to see his late sister Carrie Fisher be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
The 65-year-old said he has been left "heartbroken" by the snub and insisted Carrie would have wanted him to attend the special occasion.
The Star Wars actress sadly died in 2016 at the age of 60 after going into cardiac arrest while onboard a flight. Her grief-stricken mother, Debbie Reynolds, died just one day later.
Now, Carrie will be remembered on Hollywood Boulevard on May 4, but Todd says he isn't part of the 30-seat guest list.
"It's heartbreaking and shocking to me that I was intentionally omitted from attending this important legacy event for my sister, Carrie," he said.
Todd admitted he views the snub as "extremely hurtful and distressing as I was always a big part of everything my sister and mother did historically over their lifetimes."
Speaking to TMZ, he noted how he and Carrie watched on as their mother was given her second star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame in 1997.
He claims to have even started the process to make sure his late sister was given her own star.
"Frankly, it's a distressing situation and I don't deserve to be put in this position. As the only brother of the Carrie Fisher, being omitted from this special day is truly hurtful," he told the publication.
The director said he approached the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for clarity following the snub and found out the guest list was controlled by Disney.
He claims they told him that Carrie's family had already filled their allotted seats and that the final decision was down to the family.
He was allegedly advised not to bring the matter to Carrie's daughter Billie Lourd and cause her more stress.
Billie, who has followed her mother into acting, will be on hand during the ceremony to accept the honour on behalf of her mother.
She has since issued a public statement about her uncle's claims.
"I apologize to anyone reading this for feeling the need to defend myself publicly from these family members. But unfortunately, because they publicly attacked me, I have to publicly respond.
"The truth is I did not invite them to this ceremony. They know why.
"Days after my mom died, her brother and her sister chose to process their grief publicly and capitalize on my mother's death," she said.
Billie added: "To be clear -- there is no feud. We have no relationship. This was a conscious decision on my part to break a cycle with a way of life I want no part of for myself or my children.
"The people who knew and loved my mom at Disney and Lucasfilm have made this star on the Hollywood walk of fame to honor her legacy possible. This moment is about Carrie Fisher and all that she accomplished and what she meant to the world."
