Carolina Panthers vs. Dallas Cowboys game recap: Everything we know

The hot seat for Carolina Panthers head coach Frank Reich might’ve got even hotter on Sunday.

Here’s everything we know from the Week 11 loss to the Dallas Cowboys:

Final score: Cowboys 33, Panthers 10

Keys to the game

Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports
  • Quarterback Bryce Young, as expected, faced a flurry of pressure. He was sacked seven times and hit a total of 10, leading to another underwhelming passing performance of 123 yards.
  • While the Panthers defense stood pretty strong against quarterback Dak Prescott, allowing just 189 passing yards, they came up with zero sacks and zero takeaways. They also let running back Tony Pollard get right a bit, as he rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.
  • The Cowboys defense, however, did force some turnovers—both at the expense of Young. Young tossed a pick-six and lost a fumble on back-to-back possessions in the fourth quarter—capping of a day of self-inflicted wounds for the Panthers.

The Panthers made this one at least a little interesting at the 1:59 mark of the third quarter, piecing together a 17-play, 70-yard touchdown drive to pull within seven. But the Cowboys pressed on the gas immediately after.

Dallas responded with an eight-play, 75-yard visit to the end zone—a trip capped off by a 21-yard rush by Pollard. On the very next play from scrimmage, cornerback DaRon Bland jumped wideout Jonathan Mingo’s route for a 30-yard pick-six—his fourth of the season.

At that point, the Cowboys led 30-10 with 13:48 remaining in the game.
