Former Countdown star Carol Vorderman was in high sprits yesterday as she won big on the horses at Ascot races.
Vorders, 61, took to Instagram to document her day which included some very successful bets and plenty of partying. Surrounded by pals, the Clifton resident bagged £661 on just the second race of the day after an each-way bet came in.
Not content with winning just once, Carol went on to get lucky again as Bayside Boy came in to win the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes netting her a whopping £901.

The TV star was clearly in the mood to celebrate posting videos on Instagram from Ascot's 'party tent'. She also posted for a snap with legendary jockey Frankie Dettori.
On her way to the races, Carol posted on Instagram: "I love horse racing.....off to the biggest prize money day of the year CHAMPIONS DAY at @ascotracecourse. Can't wait. I know I'm Welsh and not Scottish but warming myself up with a bit of tartan today."
"Champions Day second race at Ascot. Three bets.... Came in 1,2,3," she added after her first win of the day. "Go on Vorders.....two from the top and one from wherever you like. Bet each way £120. Winnings £661 gross."
She then went on to share a video celebrating her second big win of the day.
Vorders recently set pulses racing with the revelation that she has multiple relationships - and said that one of her 'special friends' is an astronaut who rang her from space.
The English-born Welsh media personality, who will be 62 on Christmas Eve, told ITV's This Morning that she has never felt so free. Carol said: "Our mothers told us that we should marry when we were still 18 or 19 or 20, so we grew up with that convention that you should find one partner for life. My view is not quite like that."
"Half of first marriages end in divorce, and nearly three quarters of second marriages end in divorce," she said. "So I prefer to live my life in chapters."
"I live my life in chapters... and this chapter since I was about 50. So for the last decade or so, I've lived a life which is much freer," she said. "I've never felt freer. So I have ignored the looking for one person and I have a number of what I've called 'special friends'."
