Carol Vorderman left Holly Willoughby surprised with a revelation about Chris Moyles during her latest appearance on This Morning. The former Countdown host appeared on the ITV daytime show as part of its daily I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here segment.
Holly and co-host Philip Schofield have been joined by various familiar faces who have also been campmates as they discuss the latest action from the ITV reality show. And Carol's comments came ahead of radio DJ Chris taking on the last public-voted Bustrucker trial for at least a couple of days as the celebs face a new challenge.
Discussing Chris' jungle stint on Wednesday's This Morning, Carol also admitted she's concerned he is coming across as 'aggressive' on the show, after he accused Boy George of stealing his towel in Tuesday's show. And it is then she shared her unknwon connection to the former Radio 1 star.
"I've known Chris since he was eight years old. He was my little helper on radio," the 61-year-old revealed. "In the 1980s up in Leeds, I had a kids request show. And I had a little letter from a child at age 8, saying can I come and help you and get the music from the music library, the records.
"Chris Moyles, aged eight, used to help me every Saturday, yeah. His first time in radio." A stunned Holly then shared her surprise as she replied: "No way! Oh that's really cute."
Carol went on to say: "Chris, I don't think is coming across as well as he'd hoped he might have, I don't think. I think he's coming across as quite aggressive which I don't think he is... I like Chris but he does look really scared in this he really does." But Holly noted that the 'aggressiveness' might be down to his sense of humour, adding: "He's quite dry, he has quite a dry sense of humour. Do you think it's that?" to which Carol agreed, saying: "He is, I think it is that."
During Wednesday night's installment of I'm A Celeb, Chris took part in his second Bushtucker Trial, Boiling Point, which saw the 48-year-old attempt to release stars using a tiny spanner. After struggling through the challenge, a noticeably distressed Chris managed to secure just one out of a possible 11 stars after losing a second star in the water her found himself in.
Meanwhile, Chris' 'worried' girlfriend Tiffany Austin has said she is missing her partner "making me laugh every day" whilst he is in the jungle. She landed in Brisbane airport on Wednesday to support Chris ahead of the first eviction. And while Tiffany is concerned that her man has faced two trials in a row, she thinks it is part of a rite of passage to doing I'm A Celebrity.
She said: "Absolutely, it is part of the experience of doing the show, but I am worried about him obviously, but it is part of being on the show he has to experience that. It is wonderful he can get some airtime as well." But Tiffany, who is also Boy George's manager, does have split loyalties.
"I would like both of them to win, I love them both, and I am just so excited. It is lovely they have each other in there, for me anyway," she said. " There is radio Chris, and then there is the Chris that I see every day, which you are seeing. This is what he does every day for a living - he makes me laugh every day."
