Carol Vorderman has hit out at trolls after receiving backlash for criticising Jeremy Clarkson. The former Countdown star has been very vocal with her opinions on Clarkson's column about his 'cellular' hatred for the Duchess of Sussex, in which he claimed to hate the royal more than serial killer Rose West.
After the column was published in The Sun on Friday, December 16, a number of famous faces - including Clarkson's daughter - have slammed the ex-Top Gear host for expressing 'misogynistic' views, which included his 'dream' of seeing Meghan paraded through the streets naked, whilst onlookers hurl excrement at her. At the request of Clarkson, The Sun has since taken down the column, which has become the most complained about article in history.
Caroline Nokes is one of many MPs to have taken a stand against Clarkson. The Tory MP sent a letter to The Sun's editor, Victoria Newton, demanding that 'action is taken against Mr Clarkson and an unreserved apology is issued to Ms Markle immediately', in addition to 'definitive action' being taken to 'ensure no article like this is ever published again'.

After Nokes posted the letter, which was signed by over 60 MPs, on social media, she has been on the receiving end of backlash from trolls, and has since shared examples of some of these messages. Last night, December 20, the MP posted a screenshot of a sexist message she had received, which read in capital letters: "Stfu [shut the f**k up] ugly s**g Jeremy Clarkson allowed hes [sic] opinion dont like it then **** off to the kitchen."
Nokes wrote: "This one is a real delight (and not great with apostrophes)."
Carol Vorderman, who lives in Clifton, has been open about her experiences with trolling, especially this week after standing up against Clarkson. She retweeted Nokes' tweet this morning, claiming that she had experienced similar.
The 61-year-old tweeted: "TROLLS. Had to retweet this as most of my trolls are similar...terrible spellers!! They also appear to be without friends, generally following 5 times more accounts than they have followers of their own.
"They aren't growing in number. They're just noisy. We fight on. Thoughts?"
Earlier this morning, Carol directly addressed the trolling she had received this week. She wrote: "TROLLS post Clarkson. After getting thousands of comments about a subject which riles the trolls, they still made up ONLY 10% of responses.
"The GOOD PEOPLE, who are usually silent but now speaking out, are the 90% MAJORITY #Together. Oh I do love a number Sending love & thanks."
