Carol Vorderman has had to pull out of her This Morning appearance today (December 2) as she continues to battle the flu. The former Countdown star, who lives in Clifton, has kept fans posted this week whilst she has felt under the weather, having spent some time on the sofa watching films as she tries to recover from the virus.
Unfortunately, Carol's illness has interrupted her work, as she informed fans today that she will not be on This Morning for a 'Date Busters' segment. The 61-year-old sat on her sofa, bundled up in a white dressing gown as she shared the sad news with fans, having to stop halfway through to accommodate a coughing fit.
A barefaced Carol told her Instagram followers: "Well, I'm four days into the flu thing. Oh God, I feel rough.
"I look it. I haven't brushed my hair in four days though, so excuse that. Anyway, thank you for all your lovely messages,"
The star paused as she tried to suppress a coughing fit, having to turn away from the camera for a moment. "Sorry, I won't be on This Morning this morning.
"I was looking forward to it as well. Date Busters! Eh, it better be soon. I need a cup of tea."
Alongside the video, Carol wrote: "FOUR DAYS INTO A FLU THING. Just sorry I won't be joining you on @thismorning....was really looking forward to it with my big bad handsome partner in crime @gylesbrandreth..
"Still it means I haven't had to brush my hair for 4 days which is always a bonus. Speak soon and thank you for your get well messages. You're a lovely lot."
Carol's Date Busters segment with former MP Gyles sees the pair give advice and answers to viewers who are dealing with problems in their relationships and sex lives. A very ill Carol was wished well by many of her friends and followers, some of whom have recently been ill themselves.
"I hear you… Just came on here and seen your post," wrote Loose Women panellist and retired athlete Dame Kelly Holmes. "Oh boy I’m the same! Been up all night non stop coughing! Get well soon lovely."
Doctor Who writer Russell T Davies commented: "Oh no! Get well."
