Carol Vorderman has issued a warning to followers on Instagram.
The 61-year-old regularly interacts with her 216k fans on the social media platform and received messages of support after posting a heartfelt tribute to her late mum yesterday. Carol shared a photo of Jean to mark Mother's Day and revealed she was the reason why she got the job on Countdown.
She said: "She wrote my application letter to Countdown and forged my signature and then told me what she had done."

However, Carol was forced to take to the social media platform later in the day to warn followers to be vigilant of people impersonating her. She said: "Hello lovely peeps. Hope you're all having an ace day.
"The fakers are out again apparently. This time on something called Google chat, pretending to be me. It isn't I don't even know what Google chat is. Sorry."
Carol has previously been targeted by fraudsters and sent out a similar warning while she was holiday in Portugal in January. She shared a screenshot from a fake Instagram account pretending to be her.
Carol said: "@carolvorders01900 is a fake account. All accounts other than mine @carolvorders with the blue tick are fake.
"This is the message they are sending to people who follow. It's a scam, I'm afraid. Please report them."
The message sent by the scam account suggests Carol is reaching out to her fans. It states that her management wouldn't let her send messages on her verified account, hence why she is using a smaller profile.
