Carol Vorderman has provided an update on Lorraine Kelly's return.
The former Countdown host was drafted in to front the ITV chat show this week after the Scottish presenter tested positive for coronavirus. Carol returned to front Thursday's jam packed edition, which included interviews with James May and Gemma Oaten.
She addressed Lorraine's absence at the start of the episode and revealed the usual presenter is aiming to return next week. She said: "I'm still here filling in for Lorraine today.

"She's feeling a lot better thank goodness and is hoping to be back in her chair where she belongs on Monday. I'm looking forward to that."
Lorraine thanked Carol for standing in for her earlier this week. She said: "Well the Covid has finally got me and I tested positive at the weekend. Thanks to the vaccine it’s not too bad and I hope to be back at work very soon. Huge thanks to @carolvorders who will be hosting @lorraine until I’m back."
Fans flooded the comments to wish Lorraine a speedy recovery.
