Carol Vorderman has been like a 'mother figure' to fellow I'm A Celebrity... South Africa star Helen Flanagan as she continues to help and guide her amid her split from partner of 13-years, Scott Sinclair.
Bristol Rovers player Scott and former Coronation Street actress Helen have three children together – Matilda, 7, Delilah, 4, and son Charlie, 1 – and first started dating in 2009, with the footballer popping the question in 2018.
Sadly, they never got to tie the knot, with the pair ending their five-year relationship last year and going their separate ways instead.
Helen, 32, even had to cancel their wedding after booking a venue before splitting from Scott, 34, last year.
Speculation the pair had split first began in October last year, following Helen's appearance at the Pride of Britain awards where she walked the red carpet without her engagement ring on her left hand.
A number of weeks later, Helen finally confirmed that she and Scott were no longer together.
Almost eight months on, I'm A Celebrity star Helen is leaning on her co-star Carol, 62, for support, and sees her as a 'mother figure' as she continues to navigate single life again.
“Helen told Carol on the show that she and Scott had split up, but asked her to keep it a secret,” a source told OK! Magazine.
“It really brought the two of them close together. And Carol had lots of advice for her on being a single parent.”
I'm A Celebrity...South Africa viewers have been watching Helen grow closer and closer to mum-of-two Carol since the show kicked off last month.
The pre-recorded series which finished filming in September, has cemented a true friendship between Carol and Helen, with the former Coronation Street star said to be 'relying' on the Countdown icon for 'advice' when riddled with doubts about whether she and Scott made the right decision to end their relationship.
“They’ve remained good friends since filming ended and see each other regularly. Helen sees Carol in a motherly role, and knows she can rely on her for some words of wisdom if she’s having a tough day," the insider added.
Helen is said to also be relying on newly-single Christine McGuinness for support.
Last year, Christine ended her 11-year marriage with Top Gear host Paddy McGuinness, and has been enjoying single life ever since.
Helen and Christine have become 'friendly' since breaking up with their other halves, according to the insider.
Former soap star Helen was recently quizzed about whether ot not there is a chance she could rekindle her romance with Scott in the future.
"No. I just hope we can be good friends and co-parent," she told.
Helen confirmed she actually split with her ex in July last year and had to tell her loved ones their engagement was off, after securing a date at the grand Grantley Hall in North Yorkshire as a wedding venue.
The former soap star also teased appearing on Celebs Go Dating in the future and admitted she's open to meeting someone new.
