Carol Vorderman has 'had enough' as she calls for general election over partygate report

Carol Voderman has called for a General Election to take place after being left devastated and angry by the partygate report. The ITV This Morning Regular was furious by the report and says she has "had enough."

The Channel 4 Countdown legend tweeted: "I've had enough, have you? GENERAL ELECTION NOW." Fans are also wanting answers reports Birmingham Live.

One Twitter user replied: "So where does this leave Sunak? Didn't he deny attending any parties or breaking Covid rules in @HouseofCommons ? And yet he was fined. Is he in the same boat as Johnson?."

Another said: "Exactly, every-time these guys speak I feel ill, this morning on @LBC @SuellaBraverman was saying the legacy back log went down 17,000 soo they are wining, this while the overall increase was almost 30,000 every thing they say is fake, she is saying we did some work."

A third wrote: "Morning Carol I’ve had a enough of the # Tories since 2016 #GeneralElectionN0W I have no confidence in the Conservatives/Tories forming a government!!."

Someone else tweeted said: " Boris Johnson debased the office of Prime Minister. The Privileges Committee’s recommendation that he should not get a pass which allows ex-MPs to access Parliament after they leave is about as damning as it gets."

Another fan wrote: "Feel oddly emotional reading this #PrivilegesCommittee report - the overwhelming relief & gratitude that at last the truth is being told - the collective gaslighting of a nation is finally over #Partygate."

The cross-party investigation found that Mr Johnson committed "repeated contempts" of Parliament by deliberately misleading MPs with his partygate denials before being complicit in a campaign of abuse and intimidation. Conservative MP Sir Robert Buckland said the Privileges Committee report is "fair" and "phrases like 'kangaroo court' help nobody".

He told BBC Radio 4's World At One: "The conduct of members towards the committee is a relevant consideration for that committee and it will often either make a bad situation worse or, if the member is co-operative, be a mitigating factor that the committee bears in mind.

"And here I'm afraid it looks like the committee really were deeply unimpressed". He added: "I think phrases like 'kangaroo court' help nobody."

Asked about Sir Bernard, Sir Robert replied: "Whatever Sir Bernard did or didn't do is irrelevant to the test the committee is applying: did Boris Johnson mislead the House and if so was it intentional?".
