Carol Vorderman has shared an incredible throwback video to celebrate 40 years of her being on the television.
The Countdown sensation took to Instagram to say that on this day four decades ago, she made her first appearance on the Channel 4 show.
Looking back on the years, the 61-year-old said she felt extremely lucky and grateful for all the opportunities she's had over the years. Alongside some footage of her doing some quick maths, Carol wrote: "FORTY YEARS OF ME ON THE TELLY. On November 2nd 1982 I made my first TV appearance. On Countdown. Which was the first show on a new channel, yes Channel 4.
"Happy birthday Channel 4 and Countdown… And happy TV birthday to (me). So here’s a short slice of my 40 years. Hosting numerous prime time shows across all of our telly channels. Nearly 10,000 appearances altogether....I’m worn out just thinking about it."
She added: "It’s been a wonderful life. I’ve been lucky and grateful for all the laughing and the opportunities and interesting times with amazing people. There are too many shows to include but you’ll get the idea! But above all, and I mean this, the love that people have given me over 40 years and the stories they’ve told me of how some of these shows have influenced them and their families for the good.....Well there is nothing to compare to that.
"So if you see me out, always tell me your story. It means the world. Forever yours Carol." And fans and friends flocked to the comments to congratulate Carol on the great milestone. Vanessa Feltz wrote: "Look forward to at least another 40."
Another pal wrote: "This is incred - you’re a LEGEND Vorders!" Whilst Corrie's Kym Marsh added: "Wow!!! I remember watching you, like yesterday. Still a hot momma."
Earlier this month, the star addressed the idea of returning to Countdown, the show she fronted for 26 years, from 1982 to 2008. She said that she was working on something exciting but it wasn't her returning to Countdown. She wrote: "VERY busy day filming the first of a new project I AM VERY VERY EXCITED ABOUT... Going back to my quiz roots which I've always loved....." she typed alongside the trio of images. But she did clarify before the comments came rolling in: "No, not lovely Countdown."
