Bristol-based TV and radio presenter Carol Vorderman has backed King Charles III, because she said 'his heart is with us'. The star has been closely involved in a number of charities and appeals with the King during his years as the Prince of Wales, most notably with the Prince's Trust, and the Pride of Britain awards.
Ms Vorderman, who lives in Clifton in Bristol, tweeted her backing of the new king, saying that she believes he will be a 'superb monarch'. The former Countdown maths whizz said: "I believe our King will be a superb monarch.
"He is intelligent, ahead of his time, kind and open minded. I've met him many times and his heart is with us. He wants people, no matter what their background, to do well and he's acted upon that for decades at The Prince's Trust," she added, before finishing her endorsement tweet with a 'God Save The King'.
Ms Vorderman tweeted after the new King gave his first address to the nation earlier this evening, Friday, September 9, a day after the death of the Queen.
