Ex Loose Women star Carol McGiffin has slammed Greta Gerwig's highly-anticipated new Barbie movie ahead of the flick's premiere in London tonight where leading stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling continue their press tour.
Carol says that what she has seen of the big-budget film so far has "offended her more than anything," as she also slammed the casting of Margot Robbie as Barbie and said glamour model Katie Price would have been a better fit.
The film, which is due to be released on July 21, has had great reviews so far at early screenings according to the Mirror with some critics insisting Ryan Gosling could earn an Oscar nomination for his role as blonde bombshell Ken.
But the 63-year-old who is known for her brutal and non-filtered opinions clearly doesn't hold the same views as she hit out at the film in her latest column as well as the casting of the Hollywood stars.
"I have nothing against Barbie, the Seventies doll," Carol wrote in Best magazine, before adding: "But everything about the new movie offends me like nothing has before and I've not seen it, nor will I. Because you just know that even though she was an icon of an age gone by, Hollywood will somehow turn her into a professional feminist.
"And Margot Robbie so miscast. The obvious person to play the plastic, out-of-proportion doll with the pink house was Katie Price!"
Meanwhile, ahead of tonight's premiere in London, a Doctor Who Tardis has transformed bright pink in a nod to Scottish actor Ncuti Gatwa who will be starring as a version of the iconic Ken doll and "landed" on the banks of the Tower Bridge.
"A pink TARDIS from @BBCDoctorWho has landed on the banks of Tower Bridge #BarbieTheMovie #DoctorWho #NcutiGatwa #Tardis," they captioned the Instagram snippet with pink hearts.
The time machine, which is usually royal blue had a makeover and had changed colour to 'Barbie pink', making it a 'Barbis'.
