In case you lost track of it with all of the politics and buzz surrounding the soon to start summer Olympics, we’re here to remind you that the Ohio State Alumni team known as Carmen’s Crew is back in action this year for The Basketball Tournament.
It all started on Saturday night, and the No. 3 seeded Carmen’s Crew easily handled business against No. 6 seed Purple Hearts by a score of 93-58.
Things didn’t start out the greatest with Carmen’s Crew actually trailing after the first quarter by a bucket. After putting that in the rearview however, Carmen’s Crew took control of the game by going on a 21-0 run in the quarter to head into the break up 45-23.
The second half was more of the same with the brothers Kaleb and Andre Wesson (12 points each), as well as Kyle Young, Jared Sullinger, and more running the opposition out of the building. Things were capped off in a fun way with the 43-year old Jeff Gibbs entering the contest at the end to make the final 3-point bucket to get Carmen’s Crew over the target Elam Ending score of 91.
After the 21-0 run it was NEVER IN DOUBT!
