It may not be the same nucleus of Ohio State basketball players we’ve seen in years past with Carmen’s Crew, but the team is looking just as talented through the first two games of The Basketball Tournament.
And on Friday, Carmen’s Crew easily disposed of India Rising in Dayton, 82-56, to advance to the third round of the tournament.
It was a balanced attack for No. 4 seed Carmen’s Crew. Scott Thomas, Javon Bess, and Malik Dime led the team with eleven points each, with Kyle Young, Keyshawn Woods, and Kaleb Wesson each adding ten points toward the victory.
The game was tight and competitive early with the teams ending the first quarter tied at 23 points each. The second period would belong to Carmen’s Crew, however, with the defense clamping down on India Rising, all while pushing the lead out on a 15-2 run and a commanding two-digit lead at halftime.
India Rising tried to claw back into it in the third quarter, getting to within six points before the Buckeyes again went on a run to take control of the game and push the lead to 19 points.

Carmen’s Crew would own the game from there and went into the Elam Ending up by a score of 74-49. Jalen Tate, brother of former Ohio State player Jae’Sean Tate, would score the winning basket for an easy win.
Next up for Carmen’s Crew is a date with No. 2 seed Friday Beers at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday. The winner moves on to the quarterfinals.
