Despite a nearly two-hour delay caused by a swarm of bees, Carlos Alcaraz managed to secure a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Alexander Zverev, advancing to the semifinals of the BNP Paribas Open on Thursday night.
Alcaraz dealt with the buzzing bees by swatting at them before seeking shelter, leading to a suspension of the match just 19 minutes in, with the score tied at 1-1. A man, without any protective gear, used a vacuum to remove dozens of bees attached to the overhead spider camera that traverses the court. Additionally, he sprayed a bottle to clear the seats and surrounding walls of the court.
