In the Miami Open on Monday, top seed Carlos Alcaraz showcased dominance by defeating Gael Monfils 6-2, 6-4, while fourth seed Alexander Zverev managed to overcome a tight first set, securing a 7-6(4), 6-3 victory against Christopher Eubanks, advancing to the last 16.
Alcaraz, aiming for the prestigious 'Sunshine Double' following his recent triumph at Indian Wells, faced little resistance against Monfils, in a clash between two of tennis's most entertaining players. Although Monfils briefly challenged Alcaraz when the latter served for the match at 5-2, breaking to extend the match, the young Spaniard swiftly regained control.
