Carlo Ancelotti has okayed the signing of Edinson Cavani, who has emerged as a target for Real Madrid, according to reports.
The Manchester United forward has spent the last two seasons at Old Trafford but will leave this summer once his contract expires. He penned an extension on his original one-year deal but is now expected to seek pastures new with the Bernabeu seemingly an option.
Cavani has been a squad player in Manchester, rarely starting games despite coming up with big goals and regularly contributing. At 35 the Uruguayan is edging towards the end of his career and Los Blancos believe he would accept a role as Karim Benzema's back-up, reports Fichajes.
