Carlisle United and Barrow 'keen' on Motherwell forward

Barrow Carlisle United Connor Shields Steven Hammell Coatbridge Motherwell Sunderland

Motherwell striker Connor Shields is attracting interest from English Football League sides Carlisle United and Barrow.

The 25-year-old, who hails from Coatbridge, joined the Steelmen from Queen of the South on a three-year deal in July 2021 but has netted just three goals in over 50 appearances.

According to reports, the EFL League Two outfits have "both been alerted to the forward's possible availability" after Motherwell boss Steven Hammell strengthened his striking options last week with the arrival of former Gillingham striker Mikael Mandron.
