Carley Stenson and Darren Harriott announced as latest Dancing On Ice stars

The upcoming series of Dancing On Ice has announced two more famous faces that will be joining the line-up.

Soap star Carley Stenson is the latest celeb confirmed to be getting her skates on for the ITV competition, with the new series set to air early next year. Known for her roles as Steph Cunningham in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks and Harriet Shelton in BBC ’s Doctors, the Wigan-born actress has also starred on stage as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde: The Musical and Fantine in Les Misérables.

Comedian Darren Harriott was also announced to be joining the Dancing On Ice cast on Saturday. After being nominated for Best Newcomer and Best Show at the Edinburgh Fringe back in 2017, the 34-year-old has since appeared on the likes of Love Island Aftersun, Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week and 8 out of 10 Cats.

As the news was announced, Darren tweeted : “Me and my big size 13s are going to be learning to dance… on ice?! Yup… I never make things easy for myself!”

Carley said that she was “so excited” to be joining the show, adding: “I’m terrified but can’t wait – I just want to make the most of this whole experience.” The actress is the ninth star confirmed to be competing in the new series.

The Only Way Is Essex star Joey Essex , RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne, Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson and Coronation Street actress Mollie Gallagher were among the celebrities announced to be taking to the ice last week. Love Island’s Ekin-Su Culculoglu , football legend John Fashanu and EastEnders royalty Patsy Palmer were also confirmed to be competing.
