RTE 2FM breakfast host Carl Mullan has been confirmed as the ninth celebrity taking part in the next series of Dancing with the Stars.
The comic excitedly announced the news on social media earlier today. He told his followers that he was looking forward to getting on the dancefloor in 2023.
He wrote: “This is pretty much as far out of my comfort zone as I ever have, or probably ever will be, but I’m so up for this and will give it EVERYTHING.”

He continued: “And before you ask...I haven’t a clue how to dance but that won’t stop me trying and giving every second of this socks.”
Carl will join several other famous faces in the upcoming series. It was also announced that footballer Stephanie Roche would participate in the series earlier today, alongside previously announced competitors including Paul Brogan, Brooke Scullion, Panti Bliss, and Shane Byrne.
Carl has become a household name after he joined co-hosts Doireann Garrihy and Donncha O’Callaghan on the airwaves in 2021. The media personality boasts over 285,000 followers on Instagram and has a prominent presence on TikTok.
Dancing with the Stars also confirmed the news in an Instagram post and welcomed the 32-year-old to the cast.
The post read: “As RTE 2FM’s breakfast host, Carl is used to early mornings. In the New Year, however, he’ll be adding a dose of dance to his daily routine.”
Dancing with the Stars will grace television screens in January 2023 on RTE 1.
