Careless burglar who ransacked nursery for tins of spaghetti left a trail of blood - now he's behind bars

A career burglar ransacked a children's nursery twice in quick succession to steal valuables including tins of spaghetti - but he was caught after leaving behind a trail of blood.

Paul Hughes cost the business thousands of pounds in damage and lost takings after targeting it twice in two weeks.

But the 50-year-old was identified as the culprit after smashing a window to gain entry, cutting himself in the process and leaving his DNA at the scene.
