The Arizona Cardinals face the Buffalo Bills Sunday in Week 1. It will be the first time we see all the Cardinals’ starters in a setting other than practice all together.
In the game, there are some matchups that will be intriguing to watch.
Which ones should you pay attention to?
WR Marvin Harrison Jr. vs. CB Rasul Douglas
This will be Harrison’s NFL debut. Douglas is now the Bills’ No. 1 cornerback as Tre’Davious White is now with the Los Angeles Rams. Who will have the upper hand? Will it be the wily vet Douglas or will the young stud make plays?
LB Kyzir White vs. TE Dalton Kincaid
The Bills have a new receiving corps and Kincaid now is the biggest threat in the passing game. White is great in coverage and was playing at an extremely high level before he tore his biceps last year, ending his season. If White can limit Kincaid, the Buffalo passing game will not be as scary.
CB Garrett Williams vs. WR Khalil Shakir
Shakir is the only receiver on the Bills who has caught a pass from Josh Allen before this season. he will play mostly in the slot, where Williams will defend.
DEs AJ Epenesa, Von Miller, Greg Rousseau vs. OTs Jonah Williams, Paris Johnson
Johnson is playing left tackle for the first time in a game and Williams is making his Cardinals debut at right tackle. The Buffalo edge rushers will have to produce without Leonard Floyd, who signed with the 49ers in the offseason.
DL Justin Jones vs. LG David Edwards
Jones was the Cardinals’ biggest defensive addition in the offseason. He will line up against Edwards, the Bills’ new left guard. Jones is good against the run and showed some pass-rushing chops in 2023 for the Bears.
