The Arizona Cardinals have added another player to their offseason roster for 2022. They did not announce the roster move on Wednesday, but the NFL transaction report showed they signed defensive lineman Jonathan Ledbetter to a “futures” contract for 2022.
Ledbetter had spent time on the Cardinals’ practice squad in 2021.
The 6-4, 280-lb defensive lineman was signed to the practice squad in September and was elevated to play in one game last season. It was against the Cleveland Browns when Corey Peters was placed on the COVID list the morning of the game. He played 10 defensive snaps that game and then spent the rest of the season on the practice squad.
Ledbetter entered the league in 2019 as an undrafted rookie out of Georgia. His only other NFL game was one start in 2019 for the Miami Dolphins. He had four tackles and half a sack in that game.
Arizona now has 17 players signed to “futures” contracts this offseason.
