The Arizona Cardinals have begun the process of cutting down their roster down to 53 players. They announced three player cuts Monday.
They released cornerback Josh Jackson, linebacker Joe Walker and Koda Martin.
Walker was on his third stint with the team. Jackson was signed during the spring. Martin had been on the Cardinals’ practice squad the last two seasons.
The release of Walker and Martin are no surprise. There simply was no room on the roster at their positions. The release of Jackson is somewhat more surprising, as the cornerback room is lacking in experience and bodies.
The Cardinals must move another 25 players via release, injured reserve or trade by Tuesday’s 1 p.m. Arizona time deadline.
