What a crazy game!

On Sunday afternoon in Las Vegas, the Arizona Cardinals fell behind 20-0 in the first half, looking as bad on both sides of the ball as they did in the season-opening 44-21 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

But in the second half, the defense only allows three points and the Cardinals got late-game heroics from quarterback Kyler Murray. He rushes for a touchdown as regulation ended and ties the game with a throw to A.J. Green for the two-point conversion.

Then, in overtime, they get a defensive touchdown from Byron Murphy, who picks up a Hunter Renfrow fumble and returns it 59 yards for the win.

The Cardinals improve to 1-1 and suddenly have some life after looking completely listless for six quarters of the 2022 season.

Raiders 7, Cardinals 0

The Raiders get the ball first and give the Cardinals’ defense problems. They possess the ball nearly 10 minutes to start the game and have 15 plays. After Jalen Thompson is flagged for pass interference in the end zone, giving the Raiders a first-and-goal at the one, Davante Adams has a one-yard catch to give the lead.

Raiders 10, Cardinals 0

The Cardinals don’t go three-and-out on their first drive like they did in Week 1, but they are forced to point and the Raiders have a nine-play drive, but this time they don’t get in the end zone. They get a 32-yard field goal to take a 10-0 lead.

Raiders 17, Cardinals 0

After another punt, the defense is useless. Raiders tight end Darren Waller scores on a three-yard touchdown pass from Derek Carr.

He is guarded by Zeke Turner for some reason.

Murray picked off

Kyler Murray avoids one interception by Nate Hobbs because he is flagged for defensive holding. But three plays later, he escapes pressure and is picked off by Amik Robertson.

Without a stop and points before halftime, this game will be over.

James Conner injures ankle

The Cardinals have not had much luck with injuries and it doesn’t get better. In the second half, the latest to get hurt is running back James Conner. He exits the game with an ankle injury and is replaced by Darrel Williams.

Raiders 20, Cardinals 7

The Cardinals finally get something going offensively. They force a punt and then put together an 11-play drive. Greg Dortch has a 29-yard reception that sparks the drive. Zach Ertz has a couple of receptions. Kyler Murray has a scramble. The drive ends with a five-yard touchdown pass to Dortch. It is Dortch’s first career touchdown.

Raiders 23, Cardinals 7

The Raiders respond to the touchdown with points but fail to get in the end zone. The Cardinals play better except for a long pass interference penalty by Marco Wilson. After nearly getting a sack on third down, the Raiders settle for a 25-yard kick.

Turnover on downs

The Cardinals decide to go for it on fourth-and-1 in the red zone but come away empty after an incomplete pass in the end zone to Zach Ertz.

Darrel Williams has a 30-yard run on the drive and Eno Benjamin has a nine-yard catch, but Benjamin is stopped for no gain on second down and Murray throws incompletions to Marquise Brown and Ertz to end the drive scoreless.

Raiders 23. Cardinals 15

The Cardinals make it a game! After they give the ball to the Raiders on downs, they force a three-and-out and then get within one score.

Greg Dortch has an 18-yard punt return and two catches on the drive. On fourth down, Marquise Brown makes an insane one-handed catch that puts them inside the one and Darrel Williams punches it on the next play for the touchdown.

On the two-point conversion, Murray scramble around, going backward 20 yards and then running it in for the conversion.

OVERTIME!!!!

The Cardinals come all the way back from 20-0 to tie the game at the end of regulation. They go 73 yards on 18 plays.

A.J. Green drops two passes on the drive but Murray runs for a three-yard touchdown with no time left and then Green redeems himself with a catch for the two-point conversion at the back of the end zone.

We are going to overtime.

Cardinals win the toss!

After the crazy end to regulation, the Cardinals win the coin toss and will have the football again with a chance to win.

Turnover on downs

The Cardinals go for it on fourth down with one yard to go. There is a busted coverage and Marquise Brown is wide open. As he catches the ball, he is hit and the ball is knocked out.

The Raiders have a chance.

CARDINALS WIN!

The Cardinals pick up a big win when Byron Murphy recovers a Hunter Renfrow fumble and returns it 59 yards for a game-ending touchdown.

Renfrow fumbles two plays before and tight end Foster Moreau saves the day for a moment.

On the next play, Jalen Thompson almost picks off a pass for Davante Adams.

Then Renfrow fumbles again after a catch, Murphy picks up the ball and runs 62 yards to give the Cardinals a 29-23 win.
