Cardinals’ potential targets in Round 1

The Arizona Cardinals have the third overall pick un the 2023 NFL draft. It is unknown what exactly they will do.

They might keep the pick and select a player. They also might trade the pick, moving down and acquiring other picks later.

But whether they make a selection No. 3 overall or as far back as No. 12 overall, there are a few players you should know. We expect one of these players to be the pick in the first round.

They are not ranked by likelihood.

Alabama EDGE Will Anderson

Gary Cosby Jr.-USA TODAY Sports

The most productive pass rusher in the nation over the last two seasons, Anderson is the most mentioned player to the Cardinals.

He is perfect off the field, plays like a hungry dog on the field and produced elite numbers against the best competition in college football.

Wilson’s length and athleticism make him very intriguing as to the type of ceiling he has as a player in the NFL.

Oregon CB Christian Gonzalez

University Of Oregon At Oregon State

Gonzalez plays a premium position with length and elite athleticism. He had four interceptions last season for the Ducks.

Illinois CB Devon Witherspoon

Matt Krohn-USA TODAY Sports

Witherspoon is getting a lot of attention right now. He might get selected before Gonzalez. He doesn’t have ideal length but plays with the same sort of mentality as Budda Baker.

Ohio State OL Paris Johnson

David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

Johnson is considered by many to be the best O-line prospect of the draft. He is the player Kyler Murray reportedly wants.

Georgia OL Broderick Jones

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Jones is an elite athlete and has versatility, although he should be fine at tackle.

Northwestern OL Peter Skoronski

Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

Skoronski is also considered perhaps the best prospect. Todd McShay suggested that he is the Cardinals’ target. He played left tackle for Northwestern but many believe he will be an elite guard like Zack Martin for the Cowboys.
