The Arizona Cardinals will not get receiver Antoine Wesley back from injured reserve. Despite being designated to return last week after missing four games with a hip/groin injury, according to a report last week, he suffered a setback in his return, suffering a quad injury.
Head coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters Monday, “Antoine will be out. His injury last week unfortunately was season-ending.”
The team announced Wesley underwent season-ending surgery later in the day.
He should be back in 2023. He will be an exclusive rights free agent after the season.
He anticipates a return in 2023, as he had a message for fans on social media.

Wesley’s season ends without having played a down.
The unfortunate thing is the Cardinals already designated him to return from injured reserve. Teams can only designate a total of eight players to return this season. Wesley already counts as one of them even though he will not return.
