The Raiders are big favorites going into Week 2. Against the Cardinals, they are 5.5 point favorites on Tipico Sportsbook and that number has only risen throughout the week.
However, the Cardinals have had a lot of success as road underdogs under Kliff Kingsbury. According to ESPN, the Cardinals have won their last six games outright as underdogs:
“The Cardinals have won each of their past six road games outright when they were an underdog — just one shy of matching the 1980-81 Seahawks for the longest such win streak in the Super Bowl era.”
For whatever reason, Kyler Murray has been an outstanding road quarterback during his career. He has a career passer rating of 96.9 on the road, which is significantly higher compared to when he is at home (91.5). His career record on the road is 13-10, while the Cardinals are just 9-14-1 at home with Murray under center.
If the Raiders want to win this game, they are going to need to play significantly better than they did in Week 1. And they certainly can’t count on the Cardinals playing as poorly as they did against the Chiefs in Arizona. Look for this to be a highly competitive game in Las Vegas on Sunday.
