Cardinals get a reset on rotation, rest for bullpen as weather postpones finale vs. Pirates

ST. LOUIS — The Cardinals' game against the Pittsburgh Pirates has been postponed due to inclement weather expected in the area. The game will be made up as part of a day-night doubleheader on June 14 at Busch Stadium. The first game will be at 12:15 p.m. St. Louis time, and the night game will be 6:45 p.m. They will be nine inning games.

The rainout allows the Cardinals to completely revamp their pitching plans for the coming week and stash Jordan Hicks in the bullpen for a day.

Hicks, who was set to make his debut as a starter Tuesday night vs. Kansas City, will instead be in the bullpen for that game. Dakota Hudson will start Tuesday and throw to catcher Andrew Knizner. On Wednesday, Adam Wainwright will start as scheduled and throw to Yadier Molina for their 306th start together.

Hicks' debut as a starter then will come Sunday in Milwaukee.
