Cardinals follow familiar script in loss to Rams

The Arizona Cardinals lost their Week 6 road game to the Los Angeles Rams 26-9 on Sunday. The game followed a familiar script.

They played well in the first half but saw things fall apart in the second half.

The Cardinals led the Rams 9-6 at halftime but were outscored 17-0 in the second half.

They played well offensively and defensively in the first half.

In the second half, they were overwhelmed. Josh Dobbs turned the ball over twice.

Defensively, they were unable to contain running back Kyren Williams, who finished with 158 rushing yards and a touchdown.

For the third week in a row, they had an opposing receiver gain more than 140 yards. After 148 from San Francisco’s Brandon Aiyuk and 192 from Cincinnati’s Ja’Marr Chase, Cooper Kupp had seven catches for 148 yards.

For the third time in four weeks, an opposing running back has rushed for more than 100 yards.

They were outscored 17-0 in the second half.

So far this season, they have been outscored 95-30 in the second half. They have not scored more than eight points in the second half of any game.

They come out prepared, play hard and are competitive but mistakes, lack of talent and opponent adjustments are too much for them to overcome with the personnel they have.

The result? Another loss.

They are proving to be both better than we thought they would be and exactly what we expected.
