The Arizona Cardinals own the Houston Texans’ first-round draft pick in 2024. When the season began, most believed it would end up being a top-10 or even a top-five pick.
It will not be.
The Texans are 9-7 entering Week 18 and face the Indianapolis Colts in a game that will determine who goes makes the playoffs. The winner of the game could also potentially win the AFC South.
The Texans’ pick in the first round would be No. 17 if the season ended today. If they win and make the playoffs, that pick will move to 19th or later, depending on when they lose in the postseason.
If they lose, depending on what happens in Week 18, that pick could go as high as 14th.
As the Cardinals move forward, draft capital matters. So Cardinals fans should all be rooting for the Colts to win the game on Saturday against Houston to keep the Texans out of the playoffs and potentially improving the Cardinals’ pick in the draft they get from them.
Cardinals fans are all Colts fans this weekend.
