The Cardiff Half Marathon is taking place next week and it's set to be broadcast on television. The largest road running race in Wales is making an epic come-back on Sunday, March 27 2022, a staggering 903 days after its last event in October, 2019.
The huge event, sponsored by Cardiff University, will see more than 25,000 people walk, jog or run 13.1 miles around the capital, challenging themselves and raising funds for local, national and international charities and community organisations. For more on the Cardiff Half Marathon, go here.
Runners will be able to relive the day with a dedicated Welsh-language highlights programme on S4C on Monday, March 28 at 8pm. The programme will also be available to stream online with subtitles via BBC iPlayer.

And an English-language highlights programme is also set to be broadcast around the world on various satellite channels in the coming weeks. The half marathon will be the largest mass-participation event to take place in Wales since before the pandemic and will see participants pass some of the city's most well-loved sites including Cardiff Castle, the Principality Stadium and the Cardiff Bay Barrage.
CEO of Run 4 Wales, a not-for-profit social enterprise that organises and manages major sporting events across Wales, Matt Newman said: "It’s been a long wait, but we’re so excited for the return of the Cardiff Half this month. The race has become one of Wales’ most iconic sporting events and its return will be a real celebration.
"As an organisation that is proud to be Welsh, we work hard to ensure that our events consider and embrace the Welsh language to help create a unique sense of identity, pride and culture. Naturally we are delighted that a Welsh language version of the race highlights will be televised this year. Pob lwc to all of those taking part!"
Sports commissioner at S4C, Sue Butler added: "Good luck to everyone taking part in the fantastic event that is the Cardiff University Cardiff Half Marathon. There'll be full highlights the following evening on S4C where we hope you’ll enjoy re-living the experience with your feet up."
The Cardiff Half Marathon on March 27 has been organised as a "Breathable Event," with a number of Covid safety measures in place for participants, spectators, volunteers and staff. A second edition of the Cardiff Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, October 2, 2022. Applications to enter this event will open in late March, 2022.
