Cardiff City's playing squad and staff will continue to take the knee ahead of matches kicking off in the new season, it has been announced.
The plans were confirmed on the eve of the Bluebirds' curtain-raiser against Norwich on Saturday, July 30, and came hours after Swansea City revealed they would not be observing the gesture going forward.
A statement issued on behalf of Cardiff's squad said: "Members of Cardiff City’s first team squad have asked for it to be reiterated to supporters on the eve of the season that this is not a political gesture, but because they wish to help keep the conversation around racism, inequality and discrimination in football and wider society moving forward.
