Here's your round-up of all the latest Cardiff City news for Monday, September 5.
Robinson's classy message to Albion
Callum Robinson has bid an emotional farewell to West Bromwich Albion, following his move to Cardiff City.
The Republic of Ireland international swapped the Baggies for the Bluebirds on deadline day in a move believed to be around £1.5m.
The move brings an end to a two-year association with The Hawthorns club, and Robinson took to social media to pay tribute to the club's fans.
"Enjoyed every moment at West Brom," he wrote. "There’s been ups and downs but it’s always been an honour to pull on the shirt. Thanks to everyone at the club for making my time an enjoyable one and most importantly thank you to the fans for your incredible support
"Wish you all the best!"
Pundit predicts tough season for Bluebirds
ITV pundit Dean Ashton says Cardiff City are in for a tough season despite the capture of striker Callum Robinson.
The 27-year-old arrived in the capital from West Bromwich Albion on deadline day, and came off the bench to make his debut during the defeat to Millwall on Saturday.
Ashton, speaking on ITV's EFL highlights show, believes the forward will have to find his shooting boots soon if Cardiff are to enjoy a successful season.
"It feels like he has to," he said. "Only one goal in five, they've given [Max] Watters the opportunity early on in the season. It hasn't quite worked so they've gone out and got Robinson. He's shown he can score goals at this level and he's going to need to.
"It's going to be a long and tough season for Cardiff for sure."
Bryson retires
Former Cardiff City midfielder Craig Bryson has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 35.
The Scottish midfielder made over 20 appearances for City during a season-long back in 2017, and was a part of the side that achieved promotion to the Premier League under Neil Warnock.
Bryson also made over 250 appearances for Derby County between 2011 and 2019, and took to Twitter over the weekend to confirm he was hanging up his boots.
He simply wrote: "All good things come to an end 610 appearances and out."
Under-21s overcome Latics
Cardiff's under-21s secured a last-gasp win over Wigan Athletic on Monday afternoon.
Darren Purse's side took the lead after just 15 minutes courtesy of a tidy finish from Jack Leahy, before the hosts levelled through Ashley Fletcher.
The points looked set to be shared, but Cardiff snatched the victory in the dying moments when captain Xavier Benjamin headed home.
