These are your Cardiff City headlines on Sunday, August 28.
Hugill left out
Jordan Hugill was not included in Norwich City's matchday squad for their trip to Sunderland on Saturday.
The striker was absent as the Canaries won 1-0 at the Stadium of Light.
The former Cardiff loanee's future at Carrow Road remains up in the air at the moment, and with the Bluebirds still on the lookout for a striker before Thursday's 11pm deadline, links are set to continue.
"At the moment there's no business," Morison said after the stalemate with Preston. "Are we working hard on it? Yes. That's no different to what we've been doing since the start of April.
"If it happens, no doubt you lot [the media] will hear about it before it actually happens anyway. So at the moment there's nothing."
Ng gives Nkounkou the thumbs up
Perry Ng has given his seal of approval to the signing of Niels Nkounkou, who has joined the Bluebirds on a season-long loan deal from Everton.
The move was confirmed on Saturday morning but the paperwork was sorted in time for him to feature against the Lilywhites.
Ng lined up in defence with Morison's newest signing and says he should fit right in.
“I thought Niels did well, and was unlucky not to score at the end there," Ng said. "He’s another good signing, he’s fitted in well, and I'm looking forward to working with him.”
On the game, Ng believes on another day the home side would have been out of sight.
"It was a frustrating game in the end," he said. “I think it was another good performance at home, a clean sheet as well, so we can’t really complain.
“They’ve kept the most clean sheets I've ever seen, so they’re a hard team to break down. I thought we got into some good areas today, but we just lacked a bit at times.
“The tempo was a bit slow in moments, but on another day that could have been two or three nil. Our style of play is good, as you can see, but we just need that little bit of luck in the end.
“Last week was horrible; we dropped below our standards, and it was a disappointing result considering how well we’ve been performing recently. It was a good performance today, and we just need to get those three points now on Tuesday.”
Cardiff were excellent - Lowe
Preston boss Ryan Lowe says Cardiff were "excellent in everything they did" against his side at Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday.
Both teams lacked a cutting edge in the south Wales sunshine, a familiar tale for both clubs so far this season. If anyone was going to win it, it was the home team, with Joe Ralls hitting the woodwork but the deadlock could not be broken.
Lowe was full of praise for the hosts post-match.
"We were second best all over the park," he said. "I thought Cardiff were excellent in everything that they did. We have come away with a point and I'm pleased we haven't conceded, but the performance was nowhere near the level of expectation.
"That wasn't good enough for us to win a game of football today. Is it a case of playing the same players too much? I'll have to have a look at that."
"He (Troy Parrott) was isolated and that's why we brought Emil (Riis Jakobsen) on," he continued. "The quality of ball up to him was not great and we had to get another striker on. I will have to look at it all back. I'm disappointed because we haven't won or played to the level of expectation. Did we deserve to win? Definitely not. Did Cardiff? Possibly, yeah. It was two teams lacking a cutting edge - certainly us, because we couldn't sustain it when we did get up there."
Colwill: We dominated
Rubin Colwill got his first start of the season under his belt on Saturday and felt he and his team-mates deserved more from the 0-0 draw.
Colwill has been working his way back up to full fitness after a pre-season marred by injury.
“I think we played really well and dominated the game," Colwill said. "We had a lot of decent chances that we could’ve put away on another day and I think we’re really gutted to come away with a draw because we deserved to win.
"On a whole we played really well, but we’re just disappointed that we didn’t get the three points."
“We were in control for pretty much the whole game," Colwill continued. "It was us playing around the edge of their box, getting in and around the back to get crosses and shots away.
“They put a bit of pressure on us at the end, but I think that was more us pushing for a goal than Preston beating us on the pitch.
"They defended really well to be fair to them, and on another day it would’ve dropped to one of us in the box or we’d have a little deflection that would go in.
“The boys in our defence didn’t switch off throughout when we were up the pitch trying to score goals. They cleared everything up and started a lot of our attacking plays, so they deserve a lot of credit.
"I've had my first start of the season now, so it's just about recovery for the time being ahead of the next time out!”
