Here are your Cardiff City headlines for Thursday, December 8.
Mark Hudson response to Owls' McGuinness wish
Mark Hudson has insisted that Cardiff won't be discussing "any kind of sale" when it comes to Mark McGuinness and Sheffield Wednesday.
The centre-back was nominated for the League One Player of the Month award for November and actually won the Owls' club-award for Player of the Month.
He is on loan at Hillsborough and, by all accounts, has impressed all who have seen him during his time there. Indeed, even manager Darren Moore has spoken about exploring the option of signing him permanently. You can read more about that here .
However, as far as Hudson is concerned, that isn't happening.
"I've watched Macca's games, I'm actually due to ring him after this (press conference)," the Bluebirds boss said on Thursday. "It's something we knew when the loan was available, that he could go and play games regularly and go and play a full season, that was the idea. To get himself in a team and playing as well as he can and gaining more experience.
"I think he will maybe have played 180 games by the time he comes back to us. I'm not sure we will be discussing any kind of sale regarding Macca at the moment. That's not where we are at.
"I am buzzing that he is doing well. That's something we are keen on. That's why he went on loan. I speak to him regularly, I watch what he is doing. He is our player."
Derby County 'not interested' in Curtis Nelson
Fellow centre-back Curtis Nelson has seen his game-time greatly reduced this season when compared to the previous three he has been at the club.
Given he has been a regular wherever he has played throughout his career, it might come as something of a surprise for him to be warming the bench.
Reports of Derby County's potential interest in the player began circulating in the last few weeks, with the League One side wanting to add to their defence in the January window.
However, our colleagues at DerbyshireLive have poured cold water over the rumour, saying the defender is 'not under consideration' pertaining to a transfer in the new year.
Hudson's straight bat over January plans
Mark Hudson believes his squad still have a lot of gelling to do and that Cardiff fans have not seen their true potential.
With the January transfer window now just weeks away from opening, supporters will be urging the club to strengthen in certain areas of the pitch, as our fan jury did in this article .
However, the manager would not offer too much on the club's plan for next month, simply stating that players now have to "show what they are about" to ensure they aren't replaced when the window opens.
"We have got a good squad," Hudson said. "We brought 17 new players in four months ago. We have still got a lot of gelling to do. That's something I'll continue to say and 100 percent what I believe in.
"No squad can be completely aligned until you have a long period of time together. We will focus on what we've got and what we can and can't do in January.
"There are some discussions going on over what is possible. We are looking at what can and can't be done.
"We have got a squad where he have players coming back who have to show where they are about. That's where we are at with the squad at the minute."
