Cardiff City transfer news as Gareth Bale raises Bluebirds hopes and club ruled out of chase for outgoing midfielder

Here's your round-up of all the latest Cardiff City news for Monday, June 13.

Bale refuses to rule out Cardiff move

Gareth Bale says he's yet to decide on his next move this summer, but has refused to rule out a move to hometown club Cardiff City.

Bale is a free agent having been released by newly-crowned Spanish champions Real Madrid, and is on the lookout for a new club ahead of the upcoming World Cup in Qatar later this year. Cardiff are among those believed to be interested in securing his services, while Italian giants AS Roma have also been linked recently.

But the Wales skipper, speaking ahead of his side's UEFA Nations League clash with the Netherlands, says he's not yet made any decision on his next move.

He said: "I haven't really thought too much about that. It's something I guess I need to sit down and go through, not just with my family, but with the manager here [Rob Page], with the physios here that we use, to see what would give me the best chance of being fit come November and December.

"I don't really know if the standard makes too much of a difference. A football game is a football game. I feel like I'll never really lose my quality on the ball. I guess it's a conversation to be had.

"I haven't really looked at everything yet. I know possible destinations but it's something I need to sit down, first and foremost with my family, and then I need to speak with managers and physios and decide what's best for myself.

"I don't have a time scale. I need time to think what's the best move for me, my family, my kids and hopefully we'll sort that over the summer. I have options."

But despite having already ruled out a move to Getafe, Bale refused to take up the opportunity to quash links with his hometown club.

Asked specifically on whether the Bluebirds were an option, he responded: "I can't really say."

Huddersfield ruled out of Vaulks running

Huddersfield Town are not interested in a move for Will Vaulks this summer.

Reports in south Yorkshire had suggested that Huddersfield were among several clubs, including Queens Park Rangers, Luton Town and Stoke City all chasing Vaulks.

Indeed, it's believed Huddersfield are in the market for a central midfielder following Danel Sinani's return to parent club Norwich City.

However, our colleagues at Yorkshire Live claim that the Terriers are not currently considering a move for the 28-year-old.

Former target Curtis on the move

Former Cardiff City target Ronan Curtis is reportedly set to leave Portsmouth this summer.

The winger was believed to be a target for the Bluebirds during the Mick McCarthy era, but the finances needed to get a deal over the line proved too prohibitive. Now, The News claims it's "increasingly likely" the Irishman will depart this summer, with Pompey reportedly willing to accept an offer of around £500,000 for the 26-year-old.

The same report claims that there is interest from the Championship, with Cardiff, Blackburn, Preston and Derby believed to be among his admirers in the past. However, there's currently no indication that it's an option Cardiff will look to consider again.

Swindon kick-off time moved

Cardiff City have confirmed that the kick-off time for their pre-season clash with Swindon Town has been moved.

Steve Morison's side travel to the County Ground to take on the League Two side in their final warm-up game of the summer. The game will still take place on Saturday, July 23, but will now kick-off at the earlier time of 12pm.

The move has been made on the request of local police.
